Please use the questions and answers below to help you pay your bill using an Online Bank or Bill Payer Service.
- How does an Online Bank or Bill Payer Service work?
-
Each service lets you make a payment electronically through your financial institution or a bill payer service of your choice. You provide either your financial institution or a bill payer service with your billing account number, the amount of your bill and the due date. Your payment is deducted from your checking or savings account based on the guidelines established by your financial institution or your bill payer service.
-
- How do I sign up for an Online Bank or Bill Payer Service?
-
Please contact either your financial institution or a bill payer service for details about this payment method.
-
- What if I need assistance while I'm trying to make my payment?
-
Since your financial institution or bill payer service is responsible for your payment, please contact them for assistance.
-
- What if American Family Insurance doesn't receive my payment?
-
American Family Insurance has no way of tracking your electronic payment made through an online bank or bill payer service. Please contact your financial institution or bill payer service for assistance in locating a lost payment.
-
- Can my agent make a payment for me?
Agents and their staff do not have security to make this type of payment for you.
- When do I need to submit my payment to ensure that it reaches American Family Insurance before the due date?
-
We recommend you submit your payment at least five to seven days prior to the due date.
-
- How does an Online Bank or Bill Payer Service payment appear on my checking or savings statement?
-
The entry appears on your checking or savings statement with other electronic transactions and shows the date of the transaction and the dollar amount. The exact wording varies by financial institution and the type of bill payer service used.
-
- Will I still receive paper bills?
-
A paper bill is still mailed to you. Using this payment method does not change the mailing of your paper bill.
-
Please note a monthly Administration Fee is charged whenever paying less than the full payment and may vary by state. However, this fee is waived when paying your bill using Automated Funds Transfer (AFT) or Online Billing. A service fee is not charged to pay your bill over the phone or online.
