You do not need to take any action to receive the 10% Auto Premium Relief Credit on your qualifying premium payments. American Family will automatically provide this credit to all eligible customers.*
Customers who recently purchased personal auto insurance with American Family will see the first Auto Premium Relief Credit issued within 60 days of their policy issuance date. For example, a new customer purchasing a personal auto policy in December would get the relief credit for the first three months of 2021, and whatever pro-rated portion of December they were insured for. For these customers, final Auto Premium Relief Credit for March 2021 will appear on bills in April and May 2021 to account for the initial 60 days mentioned previously.
American Family customers who have existing personal auto policies will receive the Auto Premium Relief Credit on their monthly billing statements for each month their personal auto policy is in force between July 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021, so long as they maintain continuous coverage and do not cancel their policy. Credit will be issued during the term of July 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.
You can see the Auto Premium Relief Credit on eligible premium payments by referencing your billing statement, signing into My Account or logging into the MyAmFam app.
Please note that the Auto Premium Relief Credit does not apply to past-due balances that are billed during this time period. The relief credit only applies to the policy premium for coverage during the July 2020 to March 2021 period. In addition, any policy changes (such as a new or removed vehicle) may affect the Auto Premium Relief Credit amount.
