The American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation has evolved from community giving to community investing. By creating strategic alliances with non-profit organizations that align with American Family’s corporate goals and values, we can make a real difference to positively impact individuals, families and communities throughout the states where we do business.

DREAMBANK

American Family Insurance doesn’t just believe in dreams, we empower them. We want our community to achieve that special something — whatever it may be — and by creating DreamBank, a community-focused initiative, we help make dreams a reality through the provision of resources.

DreamBank has helped us realize dreams through programs like DreamCamp, a three-day event for seven campers, launched in 2019, who focused on their dreams and the hard work to reach them, and DreamSummit — a multi-day event featuring interactive workshops, keynotes and networking events at no cost to visitors.

STEVE STRICKER
FOUNDATION

Established in 2013, the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation is an extension of our partnership with brand ambassador and PGA TOUR professional Steve Stricker. The foundation supports charities, educational initiatives and organizations aimed at empowering families to chase and achieve their dreams. The tournament has helped generate more than $7 million for charitable organizations in underserved communities and the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison. The American Family Insurance Championship received the PGA TOUR Champions’ tournament of the year award again in 2019.

As a company we believe that social impact doesn’t start nor end with a check. Rather, we believe the most effective and long-lasting philanthropy combines financial support in tandem with human capital.

Whether it’s the thousands of hours each year our employees and agents give to non-profit organizations and causes important to the life and sustainability of the community, or the hundreds of volunteers from across the country that step forward to take part in the American Family Insurance Championship, the belief in, and the power of volunteerism at American Family is clear and it’s considerable.

UW Madison Partnership


Launched in 2015, our partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison is an annual commitment over ten years. It means we’re supporting UW-Madison activities for years to come, strengthening the bond between our company, the university and our community.

Dreams Foundation


Through the American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation, American Family employees and agency owners have access to a matching gift program. Funds are set aside and used to match charitable donations across the country.

In 2019, the Dreams Foundation matched every dollar contributed by American Family employees and agency owners. The benefit spurred 6,873 matching gift requests from 3,685 agency owners and employees, totaling $2,361,228 in donations to non-profit organizations. The matching gift program, which involves the goodwill and generosity of our people, is a major contributor to positive outcomes in our communities.
